Ans : The difference between Book-keeping and Accounting are as under:- Basis Book-keeping Accounting Objective Its objective is to keep permanent records of financial transaction. Its objective is to record transactions, classify and summarize them. Stage It is the primary stage accounting process. It is a secondary stage. It begins when book-keeping ends. Knowledge The book keeper is not required to have a higher level of knowledge than that of an accountant. The accountant is required to have a higher level of knowledge than that of a book keeper. Performs The job of book-keeping is performed by book-keepers of junior staffs. The job of accounting is performed by accountant or senior staff. Nature of job The job of book keeper is often routine and clerical. The job of an accountant is analytical and judgment in nature.
